DAY 8
|
Acrylic ink, acrylic paint |
I was thinking about my mom and how much she loved clowns. She collected clown figurines, and dressed as clowns on occasions such as Halloween. I recall that she was particularly fond of Emmet Kelly for as far back as I remember. So this one's dedicated to Mom's memory - maybe I'll get around to painting her favorite hobo clown, too.
CELEBRATE * LOVE * CREATE
THis was a nice surprise to see a clown on your site. I do not particularily love clowns, they scared me when I was little. It is a great memory of your Mama.

Loving your faces, i think day 3 is my favorite so far!
ReplyDeleteJust have to pause to say hello and let you know how delighted I am to have discovered your blog!
ReplyDeleteMerry creating!
this is really lovely... which takes a lot for me to admit - because clowns freak me out a bit :)
ReplyDeleteLOL - Thanks Kelly and Phoenix. I have to admit, I have never been particularly fond of clowns myself, but Mom loved them so that I can embrace them a little in remembrance of her. Thank you, Fallingladies! I have to admit that I'm pretty fond of that Modigliani inspired face, too. I've always been drawn to his portraits of women. Rose, I'm so glad you took the time to say hello. Your blog is intriguing and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSuper face! A fascinating and fun face to create and interesting that it evokes such memories...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Eva! I'm afraid I have to agree with the general consensus - clowns are creepy. Mom loved them so much that I now think of her whenever I see one so I'm not quite as creeped out any more :o)
