Monday's Musings

Thoughts.  They never stop.  A constant flow of ideas, memories, questions, answers.

Sometimes thoughts are helpful and bring ideas into sharper focus.

Sometimes, one thought stands out among all the rest and demands undivided attention.

Sometimes, thoughts are disjointed and it's impossible to make them feel cohesive.

At other times, thoughts are intrusive, blocking vision of the obvious, over-riding instinct or intuition.

Sometimes thoughts get in the way of spontaneity and creativity.  They can be annoying, negative, hurtful.

But sometimes, the right thoughts can bring peace of mind and balance.

Thoughts  can leave you feeling exhausted or exhilarated.  They can help or they can hinder.

The mind is an incredible thing.  And the fact that we have the choice to ignore or act upon a thought is a great gift.

I'm grateful that I have the ability to think, to sort my thoughts and to hopefully, act appropriately upon them.  I'm grateful I have the capacity to make choices, and I'm grateful that my mind is filled with thoughts - even when I can't turn them off.

    1. You're not kidding, Linda! My only salvation is the fact that I'm usually so exhausted by the time my head hits the pillow, sleep comes quickly! LOL xoxo
